weaving. . .

Weaving a little fun into lunch. . .

A little fun goes a very long way when it comes to getting people of a certain height to actually eat something.
My kids aren't picky, just very unmotivated eaters. Adding a little "fancy" to their meals makes them disappear much faster and
helps me stay sane. No begging, pleading or threats of "no dessert" necessary.

Another Piece of Cake

Treasure Chest Challenge

For her sixth birthday party, my oldest daughter issued the ultimate challenge: a treasure chest cake. She originally wanted it to open and close, I failed that request! Other than that, I think it turned out great.
This is a two layer almond pound cake with two toned chocolate frosting. The top is made from sugar cookie dough baked over a 1 gallon jar and two half circles, frosted together in gingerbread house style. The sand is brown sugar over vanilla frosting, the coins are cookies with gold sprinkles. The jewels are jolly ranchers. The rings and pearls are plastic.

This is made from marzipan and was on the chest lid. This was the birthday girls favorite part!
